Well, I'm back. It's been a long two weeks, but I didn't want to come back home. When you are with people who are your family and best friends and all you do is party and do what you love for a living for half a month, it's hard to return to the "hard knock life" (haha) that has become mine. This year's drill was by far the most fabulous to date.
Many drinks were had, many concerts were performed, I learned the specifics of my deployment status, and I rekindled old friendships and flames that sometimes get lost in the hustle and bustle of Chattanooga life.
A night in Bowling Green Kentucky brought drunken parking lot swimming in the rain. Me and my three best guard girlfriends were soaked to the bone, frolicking through cars, trucks, and buses. Rain yoga, arm wrestling, and dancing ensued. Needless to say the men in the guard had one of the best nights of their lives and pictures were taken. Fun was had by all, especially the girls. You really learn who your real friends are in the middle of all this craziness.
The Fourth of July lasted three days.... we had fireworks literally for three nights in a row... and they figuratively lasted until the very last day of drill. We ate entirely too much fried chicken and barbeque, but had the pleasantly constant reminder of our country's independence and the soldiers who allowed it.
That is all I have for now... I'm back. It's good to be home. But I'll miss my family and friends. Until next time.
It's too bad we were away for the week before the Fourth, otherwise we'd have been able to come see you in Bowling Green. Still, it sounds like you had a totally fab time!
