I know there are a lot of people who don't like Michael Moore (mainly because they are too lazy to read anything themselves and they listen to what everyone else thinks, instead;), but I am a fan and agree with a lot of his points. I can't wait for fahrenheit 9/11 to come out and am proud that it won in Cannes. I just wanted some of you to read this article in the Washington Post critiquing the new movie.
Fahrenheit 9/11: Connecting With a Hard Left.
Great Article

Posted by: Tony Campbell at May 27, 2004 07:47 PMOk, well for starters I sense the darkside in this blog. That was a joke, though the tone of this blog seems vehemently angry and vicious. Which is fine, no biggy, whatever floats your boat i guess. I prefer to be more inane and goofy. To each his/her own i guess.
The thing with michael moore is, he annoys the crap out of me. Because he's kind of a big fat idiot. But in my opinion, so is Rush Limbaugh. They're both in my estimation big fat idiots. They are so far off the wing on either side they're missing what seems to me to be A. the truth B. whats important. You really can't argue that Michael moore is the left wing's Rush limbaugh. And admit it you hate rush limbaugh. Because at times he's so far fetched you have to wonder where the crap he comes up with his stuff. The same goes for Michael Moore.
I mean come on, Bush having ties to the Osama your mamma Bin Laden?? Thats pretty pathetic. I mean what is this the X files? Are we looking for conspiracy theories here?
Frankly I'm sick of the left, and the right. They seem so bent on furthering their own stinkin interests that they don't even care about this bloody country anymore. The republicans are funded by corporate greed/money and the democrats are funded by special interest groups and hollywood. Its an interesting chess game but its getting old.
Its pretty obvious to me that neither side cares about whats best for this country, but rather whats best for their respective side. Everything's a political debate, no one cares about who's living or who's dying. Don't tell me democrats care about soldiers dying in iraq, they don't, they just care about winning an election, and the same is true with the republicans.
Its a dog eat dog world and the two big dogs are fighting amongst themselves leaving the rest of us to starve and fend for ourselves. If the democrats were smart, not to say they're not, but if they were politically savy enough they would have run a canidate that was more moderate that people, like me, could relate with instead of a pretty hard core liberal from the north east who comes from old money.
Frankly Edwards was the guy that could have stolen the show. He was a guy who appealed to southerners in my opinion and appealed to moderate republicans and democarts. But instead we have a president not everyone's crazy about and a challenger people aren't crazy about either. Whats a crotchety texan and the other's a crotchety yankee... which is worse? No se mi amigo!
Posted by: A man at May 29, 2004 01:18 AMWell, that's certainly a lot to comment on there, buddy. 1. I suppose I have a cynical/ dark humor about me, but if you'd met me in person, this would seem more fitting and less vicious. I'm not really THAT mean of a person, just extremely opinionated and appreciative of darker more sadistic humor. 2. Michael Moore. He can be annoying at times, yes.... Rushish... I dunno about that, exactly. I think Michael Moore is a film maker and whether or not Bush actually has ties to Osama I could never be sure (you know by reading this I'm not a Bush fan), but I can be sure that Mr. Moore is trying to make a moving and convincing film to show his view on the George Bush situation. He is a filmmaker, not a politician. He doesn't have to tell the truth all the time, and although politicians should, they do not. 3. The reason I consider myself a Liberal has really nothing to do with me being a politician, I assure you I am not. I am a member of the U.S. Air Force, so I can also assure you I care about our military. I am a Liberal so that I can think what I want and not be criticized for it. I grew up in a Conservative family in a Conservative town and I was scared to believe what was in my heart as opposed to what was coming out of Papaw's mouth or my teacher's or the preacher's. I have not a problem with anyone with any political opinion or agenda as long as they don't take away my freedom of opinion.
I am, however unbelievable it may be, a very likable person (in person). Michael Moore may or may not be, I have never met him. But, I do know that I will be going to see this movie, I will not vote for George Bush, and I will continue to post my opinion (no matter how dark and daunting it may be) on this blog. Thank you for your comments and opinions.
